|A visit to the Zoo

I took my oldest son Orion to the National Zoo in DC today. It was a great day for it.|
He enjoyed it a lot. I’d never seen pandas before.
Since the giraffe had eaten all the low hanging leaves, we saw a giraffe jump up, stick out his super long tongue and swipe some leaves. Very impressive display. The crowd gasped and in unison says ‘Whoa!’
Funny part of the story...
We were in the middle of riding the DC Metro back home when he says to me he has to go. Orion is just finished being potty trained at this point so I didn’t think to bring backup. That was dumb.
There are no bathrooms on the trains, nor in the middle stations.
I had to get off at Dupont Circle, climb the 200 yd escalator with him on my shoulders, and take him to a nearby restaurant.
Needless to say, I ignored the sign on the door saying ‘only for customers’.
